With warmer weather coming our way that means music festivals are coming to the 6! Canadian Music Week is back this year happening from May 1st to the 10th. With all the artists playing this year you might need someone to help guide you through the lineup. So here is part 2 of artists you need to see this year at CMW.

Q Like The Letter: The Toronto native is ready to take over the city with his powerful rhymes and catchy flow. He recently put out his newest single “Dvrk Knight$” which is preparing you for his newest EP with the same name. Go see him play this May 8th at Johnny Jackson!

Redway: 

Hailing from the six Redway has been perfecting his craft as he climbs up the hip hop ladder! I’ve seen him play live before when he opened up for Schoolboy Q, he got the audience so pumped up and excited we all wanted him to play one more song. His flow is so smooth it makes you crave more of his music. Redway will be taking over the Rivoli this May 1st go get tickets now!

SonReal: 

Coming out of Vancouver the Juno Nominated rapper is bringing a new and different sound to hip hop. He is getting ready to show you more of his world as he will be releasing his new EP For The Town on April 28th. So go see him at The Great Hall May 8th to jam out to his new music!

Jazz Cartier: 

I have been hearing his name everywhere I go recently. My homies and I have been jamming out to his newests song “Switch” and “The Downtown Cliché”. His aggressive lyrics and hard hitting flow captivates you making you an instant fan once you hit play on his songs. He will be playing two shows May 7th at The Garrison and The Danforth Music Hall May 9th.

Saba: 

Adding to the already massively talented hip hop scene coming out of Chicago, Saba brings a new take with his creative sound. His flow hits perfectly over catchy melodies that will be stuck in your head all day. He makes rapping sound so easy with his insanely creative lyrics that match every beat he’s on. Check him out as he plays at the Studio Bar May 8th.
