Rapper Of The Month: Dmolish. Artist Interview

dmolish twit pictureWith the start of August that means it’s time to announce our Rapper Of The Month! And this month our rapper we are featuring is the amazing Dmolish coming out of the states. Once I hit play on his song “P.I.W.” I knew that I needed to write about him. The song starts out slow as Dmolish hops on the track telling you he had to put in work. What makes this track even better is that he produced the beat for it. I was able to talk with the talented Dmolish about where he’s based out of, how long he’s been rapping for and much more.

So where do you live?

I’m originally from Massachusetts then moved in 08. I’m living in Miami right now.

Your song “P.I.W.” is popping off! Did you know it was going to get the reaction that it did?

Honestly, I didn’t know what the reaction was going to be. My team thought it was raw but I didn’t know how the world would react. I spent a year without releasing any music. Just working on an album to put me on so I was anxious to see what people would say about my new sound.

What can people expect coming out next? Do you have a project coming out?

I have a lot to show for the next half of the year, I have an album called ‘Sin City’ coming out this Fall.

Are you thinking about making a video for “P.I.W.”?

That was the plan but I’ll be releasing a video for the last single I’m releasing on the album.

How long have you been rapping for?

6 years. I started all of this for fun and it grew into something serious. It’s been a long time coming.

If someone has never heard you before how would you describe your sound?

Very ambient, it’s considered Hip-Hop but it’s smooth.

You have really matured and progressed musically from “RWB” to now. Musically what did you work on the most to get the sound you have now?

Finding your own sound is the hard part. There are so many rappers in the game right now but you have to polish what makes you different. I can say producing my own beats helped out a lot. Production is a big part of my style. Took a lot of patience but I’m still growing and finding myself more every day.

Who are some of your favourite artists right now?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Travis Scott and A$AP lately. Other than that a lot of my brother Larry Paz’s music.

What was the last album you listened to?

Future – DS2

If you could work with anyone past or present who would it be?

I’ve always wanted to work with Pharrell and Kanye.

Where do you want to be in a year from now?

Out on tour sharing my music with the world, doing what I love to do.

What do you want people to know about you and your music?

This is a tough industry, maybe tougher than making it in the NBA. People tend to box you in, especially in Hip-Hop. I love to try different genres out, I love having people not know what to expect.

put in workDmolish is a talented artist who brings his unqiue sound and style to the genre hip hop. He’s determined to make his dreams come true and releasing his first album “Sin City” will help propel him into the spot light. Keep an eye out for Dmolish because he is not slowing down anytime soon.
