We’re smack in the middle of our premiere of Bloody Diamonds‘ video series Tough Love Live Sessions. If you missed the first two videos, you can check them out here and here. All of the videos were filmed live off the floor at Manantler Craft Brewing Co. in Bowmanville, ON, prior to the band leaving on a cross-Canada tour.
Each week in October, we’re debuting a new video from that session accompanied by some thoughts on each track by the band’s lead vocalist, Sara Elizabeth.
Here’s what she had to say about the second track, “Sugar and Spice”
Definitely the most bluesy song on the record. It’s got a great groove and a lot of grit – it was one of those songs we wrote in an hour and was good to go. It’s pretty heavy live.
Each video is better than the last, this song is amazing, the blues element really works well with the heaviness of the band, and kicks things up a few more notches.
Don’t forget to keep tuning in each week to see each of the five videos from the Tough Love Live Sessions, and catch the band live as they finish their tour with a show tonight in Sudbury at the Townehouse and tomorrow night back home in Toronto at Bovine Sex Club!
